Our History
In April 2004, Gordon Lloyd and Suzanne Armstrong created Lloyd & Zanna
Design, incorporated in British Columbia for the primary purpose of designing
and bringing to market a loungewear garment unlike any other available at the
time. The name of that product is the Baresuit, which is entirely designed and
Made in Vancouver, Canada.
The Baresuit is a one-piece garment that wraps like a bathrobe, has legs like a jumpsuit and is held together with a belt
and a hidden button. Adding legs and a hood to a bathrobe allows complete freedom of movement, fully clothing the body in warmth and comfort.
The Baresuit was introduced to the public in Vancouver, Canada at a Women's Spa and Fashion show in October, 2004.
Our website, www.baresuit.com, was launched at the same time to support online sales. Marketing, utilizing television daytime talk shows, local radio promotions, and e-fashion magazines reaching readers around North America, has stimulated growth in online sales throughout Canada,
the USA, the UK and Europe.
The Baresuit entered the retail market at two
locations of Bare Basics Lingerie in Vancouver, BC in September 2005. Since then,
the retail network has expanded to include lingerie boutiques from Vancouver
Island to Southern Ontario and the US.
Who Are We?
Suzanne Armstrong
Suzanne learned the tools of clothing design at a very early age. Her mother, a designer of haute couture ball gowns, lingerie, and theatre costumes, taught Suzanne from as young as she could walk and talk. From her mother, she inherited her passion for fashion and developed an artist's keen eye for design. Her
expertise has included designing sportswear, notably the Sun Cruz Adventure Wear line, and more recently, a highly successful career in the movie costume business. Suzanne (Zanna), with a Certificate of Fashion Design from Kwantlen College in Vancouver, has applied design skills to her trade in Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.
Gordon Lloyd
With a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia, Gordon's career has spanned the business fields of transportation and marketing with a focus over
twenty years on worldwide sales of industrial products. Extensive travel to every continent, with emphasis on North America, Europe, and the flourishing Asian countries, has given Gordon a unique perspective on the potential of product marketing in a global environment. For several years before launching the Baresuit, Gordon envisioned bringing this unique garment to market. His idea of the Baresuit as a lounge-wear garment offered worldwide is the driving force behind Lloyd & Zanna Design.
